Country Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme
The Country Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme (CPDSS) is run by the WA government to assist people who receive a payment from Centrelink—such as holders of a Health Care, Disability, or Pension Concession card—with the cost of dental treatment.
For those eligible people living in the country without a nearby public dental clinic, the CPDSS program enables you to visit a participating private dentist and receive treatment at the same cost as a public clinic.
What are the benefits of CPDSS?
Eligible patients can receive an examination, two emergency treatments, and $1500 of general dental care per year. Dentures are also covered under the scheme. Patients would only need to cover the outstanding 25-50% of dental fees.
How is your rebate determined?
Patients who would like to receive subsidised dental treatment need to bring a Pension or Health Care Card and a recent income statement from Centrelink to their dental appointment.
The level of dental subsidy you are entitled to receive from the WA government is based upon the income you receive from Centrelink.
A valid Pension or Health Care Card alone has a 50% subsidy benefit. An income statement may increase the benefit to 75%.
